We raised an enourmous $1567 for Soi Dog Foundation and Rigby's Rescue. Thank you to all those people who so kindly stuck their arms out and donated money to such worthy causes. Your contributions will make an enormous difference to the lives of lost, abandoned and abused animals. Thank you also to Debbie, Lee, Mary Grace, Julie, Tracey , Sarah & Lachlan who helped out on the day.

Mystery Donators Alert!!

Recently we have received some donations into the PAAW bank account with no accompanying email. It is our standard practice to thank every donator personally but we are unable to in this instance because we don't know who you are!! We understand that some people wish to remain anonymous and thats fine too. But if you don't tell us about your donation, then we don't know which animal welfare group to send the money to so it becomes a matter for the PAAW committee to decide. So please, if you are one of the people who has donated but not received acknowledgement, then please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it us and tell us. And thank you to those people who have donated. You make a BIG difference!

Give a dog a second chance

One of our supporters recently shared a story with us about the plight of abandoned dogs and how fulfilling it can be to welcome one of these dogs into your home. Abandoned animals more often than not  have simply been victim to people who for whatever reasons do not want to look after them and in fact, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the animal and all it needs is a person who is willing to treat them with a bit of care, respect and dignity. Read all about the story here.

Ever wondered where your money goes when you donate to PAAW? Below are some examples of the fantastic work that our beneficiaries do in helping animals desperately in need. Check it out.

The story of Buddy.............

Buddy was found purely by chance. SoiDog was going into houses in the village of Cherngtalay looking for unsterilised dogs, when they came to a shop house. A typical Thai shop house with workshop in the front, living accommodation behind and a small narrow garden behind. The owner allowed them in and they followed him through to the garden. There in the rain in a cage lying in his own urine was Buddy. It was a typical case of neglect. What had started as probably nothing more than a small bite wound had not been treated and subsequently flies had laid eggs in the wound resulting in the usual maggots eating the flesh away.
They took Buddy to a local vets and he made a rapid recovery. 5 weeks later they returned him to his owner with some misgivings but the owner was really happy to see him and only a few days later SoiDog saw him being proudly walked on the beach, a beautiful dog again that did not have to be hidden away any more. The owner was told that any further problems he must contact SoiDog and hopefully learnt his lesson.
